ALCON – Anil Counto Enterprises is one of Goa’s largest business houses formed in the year 1978. Currently, the group has five verticals, namely Construction and Real Estate, Manufacturing, Hospitality, Trading and Logistics.

A pioneer in the construction business in Goa with a track record of successfully completing more than 200 projects since its inception across commercial and residential buildings, infrastructure and roads, Alcon has been specialized in commercial and residential projects in different locations in Goa. The construction vertical also undertakes piling foundation contracts for government and private projects.

Alcon’s biggest strength is in manufacturing. There is a Portland Slag Cement manufacturing unit, set up in the year 1993 and four Ready mix concrete plants across Goa, set up in a phase wise manner since 2003, both businesses in joint-venture with ACC Limited. There is also a joint venture with Ambuja Cements Limited formed in the year 2010 which is manufacturing and marketing micro-fine products used in concrete to increase its sustainability and durability for Indian as well as international markets. Alcon is into business of pavers and blocks as well, offering complete landscaping solutions with a dedicated German technology manufacturing plant located in Kundaim, Goa. Further on, Alcon is into manufacturing of aggregate products with two plants located in Maharashtra for captive as well as non captive consumption. Alcon has ventured into manufacturing of customized washing and cleaning machines with a plant located in Pune. These machines are made for India and for export markets.

In the hospitality sector, Alcon owns three properties in Goa. There is a 55 room modern business hotel Grande Delmon located in the heart of Panaji, Goa and Ronil Beach Resort, a 125 room hotel located in Baga, Calangute. The third establishment is the famous Goan Portuguese cuisine restaurant named O’Coqueiro having 150 covers located at Porvorim, Goa.

Under the trading vertical, Alcon set up its first automobile dealership in 2006 in the mass car segment for Hyundai Motors with complete offerings of sales, services and spares. In the year 2010, Alcon was the first mover into the luxury car segment in Goa by introducing Mercedes Benz dealership. Both the dealerships have won many accolades and awards on the national platform for their impeccable service to their clients.
Under its logistics vertical, Alcon has set up two inland jetty terminals in river Mandovi for handling (loading and unloading) industrial bulk raw materials which caters to the industries located in Goa, North Karnataka and South Maharashtra. Alcon has a team which provides a complete end to end services to its clients. The terminal can handle bulk and break bulk cargo, either imported or through the coastal route.
